Baseball madness
We're full on into both boys baseball seasons, which between practices and games is easily 4 nights a week this month. We're having lots of fun. Hayden's playing well and here are some pics of our guy and the family enjoying a fun Friday night at the ballpark.

Hospital Hill Half Marathon
Trey and the kids came out to downtown KC to watch Jane run the Hospital Hill half marathon. There is a reason the two words "Hospital" and "Hill" are in the name of the race. It was a tough one, but so fun! It couldn't have been better running weather. We all spotted each other at about mile 12 of the 13.1 mile race. Perfect timing to give mommy that excitement to kick it into high gear and finish the race! Jane clocked in at 1 hour 57 min and finished in the top 25% of her age group!

BIG BOY BIKES!
We ditched the training wheels! It was such a cool experience. The boys didn't have a whole lot of interest in riding their bikes last year so we didn't push. This year though, we all felt like it was time to grow this skill. The minute Hayden hopped on his old bike, we knew that he had outgrown it and ventured out to Toys R Us for a new bike for Hayden. Well, he hopped right on that bike in the store and started riding the 2 wheelers with very little assistance! In fact, Hudson was so determined to get Daddy to get him a bike too that upon Daddy's challenge to show us (at home) that he could learn to ride Hayden's new 2 wheel bike, he just hopped right on it in the store and showed us there was no need to wait. Two excited little boys, rode their very own 2 wheel bikes right out the door and around that parking lot for the next hour. It was a wonderful, and joyful night!
Eva's First Dance Recital

You can imagine how excited I was to have my daughter in her first dance recital! She did such a great job on stage. She loved the makeup, the costume, the lights, and even danced in the aisles between performances. A star is born!!
This was her ending pose. Now, I realize that no one is doing the same thing... but Eva was more interested in the big girls watching the show from backstage than her posing.
2nd grade...here we come
Fruits and Vegetable Stand
For several months now, Hudson has been begging me to do a fruit and vegetable stand for poor people. For those of you that know Hudson, its no surprise that his little mind came up with that idea all on his own. On our first really nice day this summer, I finally gave in and helped him set it up. He was very excited and proud. He raised $5.40, which we donated to Living Water International, his chosen cause. You can check it out at www.water.cc
Husdon's first Coach Pitch Baseball Season
Hudson was excited to start playing some real baseball this season now that he's graduated from T-ball. He got real cozy playing catcher... resting his little arm on the coach's leg casually as he waited for the ball to roll on by. Too much! I'm sure it will be a fun filled, action packed season! First, we will work on teaching him to avoid doing the 360 degree turn after each swing and miss. We'll keep you posted...
