First Royals Game of the season!

Uncle Ed and Aunt Megan joined us for our first night at the "K"! It was buck night, which meant all soda, peanuts and hotdogs were only a dollar each! We collectively plowed through 12 hotdogs, 4 bags of peanuts, 6 adult beverages, 2 sodas, 1 bag of cracker jacks, and a bag of kettle corn. Whew! The weather was great that night and we got to see Greinke pitch a stellar game, 2 home runs and a few sweet plays! Hayden had his glove on the whole time hoping to catch a pop fly in the nosebleed section. It was lots of fun!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Daddy celebrated his birthday by learning his Wii Fit age is 39 rather than 32. Nothing like a birthday present that puts your age into reality check! This gift was Hudson's idea and we are having lots of fun with it. Even Nonny enjoyed it while she was here for a visit!

Easter

We hosted a small family Easter gathering today and it was so much fun. We so enjoyed having Gramma Georgia, Nonny and Papa Hurtig, Ed & Megan and Uncle Harlod over today. It sure was fun to watch the kids follow the clues the Easter Bunny left to find a Golden Egg nestled with their Easter Baskets. Hayden was impressed that a "man in a bunny suit" would do so much for them. I've created a little slideshow with all of the pics. Enjoy!

MVP!!!

Springtime brings LOTS of baseball to the Hurtig household. Hayden's season has started off with a tournament this weekend. It was pretty darn cold and windy, despite the 70 degree forecast. It was more like 40 degrees with 20mph winds! The kids really toughed it out though and are 2-0! They played really great! Their first game went into overtime (they play for 90 min rather than 9 innings) and was all tied up 9-9. The opposing team was up to bat first and our team held them and got 3 quick outs. Hayden was playing 2nd base and got a fast grounder and threw it to first in time to get one of the outs! Very exciting! Then, when our team was up to bat we loaded the bases and Hayden got a solid single to bring in the winning run! WOW! Great start!

The second game was pretty exciting as well. The kids have only had one practice together, so they are learning how to play together, getting use to the pitching machine, and finding their rhythm all during gametime. After a few innings, the Royals (our team name) really found their groove and took their 2-1 lead to 11-2 by the end of the game! The coolest thing ever was Hayden receiving the MVP medal that was awared by the opposing team! Needless to say, we're so proud!

A good thing about living in Kansas...

You can pretty much guarantee great kite weather in the spring! Daddy and Eva got some air with this one the other day.
